Kazuko, the owner and operator, previously had many wonderful
experiences hosting students and travelers from many countries
in her Japanese home.
She loved talking with them and helping them experience
the daily life of a Japanese family.
In 2015 she decided to renovate her two-story house and
turn it into a small hostel with a family atmosphere.
It is as if you are staying in an typical Japanese house.
One year later, the hostel opened its doors to the first guests.
Kazuko, with her daughters and friends, will provide you with a warm and unique stay.
You will not feel that you are in a hostel, but that you are a member of the family.
Concept & Facilities
Hostal Reposo Hikifune Lodge is a family-run hostel (guesthouse) licensed by the Hotel Business Act,
so it is not a private residence.
Our hostel is suitable for...
Independent travelers from foreign countries
Ideal for those who want to experience Japanese ordinary life and to have cross cultural communications.
Single travelers and long-stay travelers
You don't feel lonely because you can interact with our grandma and other guests.
Please make sure to check this before your booking.
We provide private rooms as well as a shared dormitory. All showers and toilets are shared.
We faced to a pretty busy street, and you can hear the cars passing by in the night time, too.
(You may even hear an ambulance because there is a hospital nearby.)
We are a small hostel, so we ask that our guest keep the noise down - especially at night.
Still, there is usually noise from normal conversations, so for guests who prefer a quiet place
(who want sleep in silence and calmness) or guests who cannot enjoy communicating with others,
we kindly ask you to find a different accommodation because we will probably not be able to meet your requests here.
We sometimes organize free activities at our hostel. We prepare small cultural experiences in which our guests can participate.
Please ask us for the schedule during your stay.
It may cost material and instructor fee depending on the activity you take part in.
